Biography

Dr. Helen Li is an associate director of patents at Intel, where she develops and manages the patent portfolio of AI innovations. Her responsibilities also include patent strategy development, competitive analysis, and IP counseling to business units on IP issues of patenting AI such as IP policies concerning usage of generative AI tools by inventors and outside counsels.

Prior to joining the Intel, Dr. Li was a patent attorney at Fenwick & West LLP, where she advised clients on IP strategy of computer engineering technologies such as AI. She drafted and prosecuted numerous patent applications on innovative technologies for next generation start-ups and Fortune 500 corporations.

Dr. Li has a PhD in computer engineering and JD both from Santa Clara University. She was a guest lecture at Santa Clara University School of Law on challenges of IP protection of AI. She authored/co-authored two articles and one blog on AI inventorship.
