Biography
Raheel Hayat is a program attorney with PLI’s California Center in San Francisco. He began his legal career as a staff attorney with the Sacramento Human Rights/Fair Housing Commission where he oversaw bringing litigation and fines against property owners and management companies that violated the Fair Housing Act. In 2013, Raheel moved to the Bay Area and started working for Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach (APILO), supervising the East Bay/Central Valley Housing and Immigration programs for APILO and also worked for the Alameda County Bar Association (ACBA) as their MCLE Supervising Attorney. Prior to joining PLI, Raheel was working full time with the Continuing Education of the Bar as a programs attorney where he oversaw designing and hosting Continuing Legal Education courses.
Raheel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Political Science and a Minor in South Asian and Middle Eastern Studies from U.C. Davis and a J.D. from University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. He is admitted to practice in California.
