AI/Tech Series: The Evolution of Open-Source AI
 

Welcome to PLI’s AI/Tech Studio Series – this innovative, new series features hour-long, in-depth discussions on the latest in artificial intelligence and the next generation of technology.  Series topics explored are generative AI and its intersection with open source and licensing, quantum computing, bitcoin biometrics and the 6G landscape.

In this 1-hour session speakers will discuss the evolution of open-source AI, current developments and uses under open-source AI, and its impact on copyright/trademark issues. The speakers will also address best practices on how to patent open-source AI technology. Speakers will then explore privacy concerns around open-source AI with respect to California privacy laws, such as when sending materials to machine learning, how do you scrub information so that AI does not reveal or distribute private data? Finally, speakers will discuss if it is possible for attorneys to use AI in their law practices without violating ethical rules.
